Domodedovo Airport to be put up for open auction in early 2026 - Russian finance minister

MOSCOW. Dec 30 (Interfax) - Domodedovo Airport, which by court decision passed into state ownership, will be put up for an open auction at the beginning of next year, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said.

"We have done a lot of work on this asset. Next year, literally, I think at the beginning of the year, the corresponding package will be put up for auction, an open auction. We will conduct it in accordance with the rules approved in the legislation. I am sure the auction will take place; there are willing parties, there are investors. And we will conduct the sale taking into account all the decisions that the Russian government has made," Siluanov said in an interview with the Rossiya 24 television channel.

In June, the companies of the Domodedovo group by court decision passed into the ownership of the Federal Property Agency (Rosimushchestvo). On June 17, the Moscow Region Arbitration Court fully satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office, which demanded the recovery of 100% of the shares of DME Holding LLC which owned the Domodedovo assets as state revenue. The claim alleged that the airport's beneficiaries, being residents of other states, managed the assets of an enterprise strategic for the country and withdrew its profits abroad in violation of Russian legislation.

Siluanov previously said that the Finance Ministry was interested in "selling this property complex as soon as possible."

In December, holders of Domodedovo's ruble bonds agreed to postpone the repayment of bonds worth 15 billion rubles to December next year and agreed to recognize that the grounds for buyback under the offers had not occurred. "The amendments to the bond terms are aimed at a short-term extension of the bonds' circulation period amid the search for a strategic shareholder, the reform of the corporate governance system and the business processes of the group," a statement from the issuer of Domodedovo's bonds said.
