Zelensky might meet Trump in Florida within next few days - media
MOSCOW. Dec 26 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said he might meet with U.S. President Donald Trump within the next few days, Ukrainian media said.
"We have agreed on a meeting at the highest level - with President Trump in the near future. A lot can be decided before the New Year," media quoted Zelensky as saying on his social account.
The Financial Times said on Friday that Zelensky and Trump might meet in Florida over the weekend.
"Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said he will meet Donald Trump in Florida over the weekend to discuss the most politically sensitive parts of a U.S. peace proposal that would ultimately be presented to Russia," it said.
The meeting is likely to take place at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, where the U.S. president is spending Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Axios said Trump and Zelensky might meet on Sunday.
Trump said earlier this week that the U.S.' talks with Moscow and Kiev on settling the Ukraine conflict were going well and that, in his view, both sides were tired of the armed standoff.
