Alfa-Bank assumes ownership of 87.5% stake in Europlan leasing company
MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - SFI (PJSC SFI), formerly Safmar Financial Investments, has closed the deal to sell an 87.5% stake in the Europlan leasing company to Alfa-Bank on December 25, the investment holding said.
Alfa-Bank paid 50.79 billion rubles for SFI's shares in the company. SFI has also received dividends from Europlan totaling 6.1 billion rubles for 9M 2025 in accordance with the terms of the deal.
Alfa-Bank will send a formal offer to Europlan minority shareholders to buy out their shares within the statutory deadline.
"We expect to maintain Europlan's public status, which guarantees transparency and high standards of corporate governance," Alfa-Bank Director of Large and Medium Business Vladimir Voeikov said in the press release.
Europlan's senior management previously said that it would retain its shareholding, and it intends to contribute to further developing the company.
It became known in November that SFI intended to sell an 87.5% stake in Europlan to Alfa Bank. The parties signed legally binding documents. As part of the deal, Europlan was valued at 65 billion rubles for 100% of the company's shares.
Founded in 1999, Europlan specializes in leasing passenger cars, trucks, commercial vehicles, and special equipment.
