Tajikistan interested in Japanese companies being actively involved in implementing green technologies - president
DUSHANBE. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has said at a meeting with Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) CEO Ichiro Takahara that Tajikistan is keenly interested in cooperation with the organization in pursuing projects in the energy and mining sectors.
"The parties focused on using the capabilities of our country [Tajikistan] in the industrial sector, modernizing mining and processing technologies, and setting up joint production facilities," the Tajik presidential press service said in a statement.
They noted the need to establish practical cooperation in implementing renewable energy projects with more investment and new technologies being drawn into them, the statement said.
"We are interested in Japanese companies being actively involved in the implementation of green technologies in Tajikistan," the press service quoted Rahmon as saying.
Rahmon is on an official visit to Japan to attend the Central Asia - Japan Dialogue Summit.
