Russia boosts ice cream exports by almost a third to $67 mln in 9M - Agroexport

MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Russia boosted ice cream exports 30% year-on-year to $67 million in the first nine months of 2025, and this could exceed $110 million by 2030, Agroexport federal center said, citing expert estimates.

The exports grew 15% in weight terms to 16,000 tonnes in the period.

Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Uzbekistan were among the biggest purchasers, with $26 million of ice cream shipped to Kazakhstan in January-September, up 41% YoY, $12 million to Belarus, up 32%, and $6.6 million to Uzbekistan, up 13%. Mongolia ranked fourth, increasing imports 16% to $6 million. China increased them by $2.5 million and ranked sixth.

The biggest growth was in exports to Iraq, which increased 2.7-fold in the period, while they grew 2.5-fold to South Korea and 2.1-fold to Nigeria.

"Russian ice cream exports were hit by sanctions restrictions. The sector was forced to redirect supplies to alternative markets, and the positive trend lasting two years second consecutively testifies to the fact that Russian companies are coping successfully with this task. There are over 50 countries among our buyers in 2025. There is significant potential for this presence to be expanded further both on the markets of neighboring countries and on those of non-CIS countries," Agroexport head Ilya Ilyushin is quoted as saying in the statement.

The center said that Russian ice cream exports could exceed $110 million by 2030.
