Current account surplus of Azerbaijan's balance of payments down 23% in Jan-Sept
BAKU. Dec 10 (Interfax) - The positive current account balance of Azerbaijan's balance of payments amounted to $3 billion or 5.4% of GDP in January-September 2025, the country's Central Bank said, citing preliminary data.
As reported, the current account surplus was $3.9 billion in January-September 2024. It has therefore fallen 23.1% this year.
"The Central Bank left unchanged the forecast that the current account of the balance of payments will be in surplus in 2025-2026," the Central Bank said regarding the discount rate.
As reported, the Central Bank expects a current account surplus of the balance of payments of $3.7 billion with an average oil price of around $70 per barrel this year.
The current account surplus of the balance of payments was $4.7 billion in 2024 (a 44.5% decrease compared to the level of 2023).
