Time for Ukraine to have elections - Trump

WASHINGTON. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Ukraine needs to hold elections, U.S. President Donald Trump said.

"They haven't had an election in a long time," Trump said in an interview with Politico.

"Yeah, I think it's time," he said in response to a question whether Kiev should organize elections.

"The Ukrainian people should have that choice. And maybe Zelensky would win. I don't know who would win," Trump said.

"You know, they talk about a democracy, but it gets to a point where it's not a democracy anymore," he said.
