Russian, Indonesian industry and trade ministries discuss boosting fertilizer supplies, collaborating in shipbuilding
MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - The respective industry and trade ministries of Russia and Indonesia have signed a memorandum of cooperation in shipbuilding, with the countries' respective ministers, Anton Alikhanov for Russia and Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita for Indonesia, signing the corresponding document following a working meeting.
The Russian ministry's press service said that the document would provide the necessary regulatory framework for developing cooperation. Details of the agreement have not been provided.
Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry upon completion of the talks said that the parties had confirmed their mutual interest in solidifying collaboration in all key areas. "Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the chemical industry, including increasing supplies of Russian mineral fertilizer to Indonesian farmers," according to the press release.
"Trade turnover between our countries has grown 80% over the past five years to $4.3 billion in 2024. The positive trend has continued, with mutual trade rising nearly 18% to $3.6 billion in January to October 2025. It is noteworthy that industrial products account for approximately 40% of the volume," Alikhanov said.
