Zaporozhye NPP completes transfer of its organizational structure to Russian nuclear industry's standards
SIMFEROPOL. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Employees of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) have passed certification to carry out work activities in accordance with the norms of Russian legislation, and the plant itself has completed the transition to the standard organizational structure of Rosenergoatom, the ZNPP said.
"The Zaporozhye NPP has completed the transition to the standard organizational structure of the Rosenergoatom concern. All plant employees have passed the necessary certification and are fully carrying out their professional activities in accordance with the norms, standards and requirements of Russian legislation," the plant said on its Telegram channel.
The transition to the unified standards of the Russian nuclear industry guarantees the stable, safe and accident-free operation of the plant, it said.
The ZNPP previously received a license from the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor) for operating a dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility. Work is also underway at the plant to obtain licenses for operating power units in accordance with Russian legislation.
The Zaporozhye NPP with six VVER-1000 reactor units is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. It stopped generating electricity on September 11, 2022. All six reactors are in a cold shutdown.
All plant facilities are incorporated into the Zaporozhye NPP federal state unitary enterprise and owned by Russia. The Zaporozhye NPP Operator, founded by Rosatom's JSC Rosenergoatom, runs the plant.
