Beltamozhservice launches multimodal service to Turkey via Novorossiysk
MINSK. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Leading Belarusian logistics operator Beltamozhservice has announced the launch of a regular multimodal service for shipping containers with LCL freight from Belarus to Turkey through the Russian port of Novorossiysk.
"The multimodal service includes the formation of a container train at the Minsk- Beltamozhservice-2 transport and logistics center (Kolyadichi), shipment to the port of Novorossiysk and then by sea to the port of Gebze," the company said.
The first shipment has already been dispatched, Beltamozhservice said.
The seaport in the Turkish city of Gebze, near Istanbul, is an important logistics center that serves both international shipping and local trade and plays an important role in transit between Europe and Asia, the company said. The port has modern infrastructure, including internal container terminals, warehouses and logistics centers, as well as good connections to major highways and railways. Thanks to its strategic location and developed infrastructure, the Gebze port is a critical link in Turkey's supply chains.
Beltamozhservice, which was founded by the State Customs Committee of Belarus, is the national logistics operator and a major exporter of goods from Belarusian manufacturers. The company actively uses Russian ports in its multimodal logistics.
