RIYADH. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Russia has invited Saudi Arabia to partner in the use of advanced technologies to extract minerals and is willing to share its expertise in developing hard to recover reserves (HRR), Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at a Saudi-Russian investment and business forum taking place as part of the ninth meeting of the countries' intergovernmental commission on cooperation in economics, trade, science and technology.

"We are offering a partnership in an important field for Saudi Arabia - the implementation of advanced technology in the energy industry and in mineral extraction, including the use of artificial intelligence technologies as well as expertise and technologies for developing hard to recover reserves," Novak said.

He said that Russian companies were willing to offer their Saudi colleagues products and solutions in the field of oil and gas equipment, metallurgy, the chemicals industry, pharmaceuticals and medical technology, municipal transport solutions and environmentally friendly electric ships.

Novak said that another area for cooperation between the two countries could be the joint development of a system which uses space technologies to predict climate risks and monitor greenhouse gas emissions.
