Russia increases exports of veterinary vaccines 1.5-fold this year compared to 2024 - Lut
MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Russia has increased exports of veterinary vaccines 1.5-fold compared to the whole of last year, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said at the Veterinary Safety international forum in Moscow on Friday.
"I would like to point out that this year so far, exports of our products [vaccines] have exceeded the result from the whole of 2024 by 50%," she said.
Lut said that the steady growth in exports was an objective confirmation of the high quality, effectiveness and competitiveness of Russian products.
"Today, we are actively realizing our scientific potential to create veterinary medicines. Domestic producers are working with scientists to develop innovative high-tech products," she said.
This is the first Veterinary Safety international forum organized by the Russian Agriculture Ministry. Among participants are foreign delegations, experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization, World Animal Protection, the Eurasian Economic Commission and other international organizations, as well as representatives from the government and from science and business.
In 2024, Russia produced 32.1 billion doses of vaccines for domestic use, compared with 19.1 billion doses in 2023, Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said in a presentation. Imports decreased from 19.4 billion doses to 15.5 billion doses in 2024. Russian vaccines made up 67.4% of the total in 2024, compared to 49.6% the previous year. In 2025 so far, this share has increased to 72.6%.
