Russia's Federation Council approves raising minimum salary to 27,093 rubles per month in 2026
MOSCOW. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Federation Council during a meeting on Wednesday approved a law setting the minimum salary at 27,093 rubles per month, effective as of January 1, 2026.
The Federation Council amended the law "On the Minimum Salary" and approved raising the minimum salary 20.7% to 27,093 rubles per month in 2026.
The current federal minimum salary is 22,440 rubles per month.
The bill has been drafted in order to implement the instructions of Russia's president from 2024 on raising the minimum salary at an accelerated pace and ensuring that the minimum salary more than doubles by 2030 compared to the amount set for 2023, reaching a level of at least 35,000 rubles per month.
The Russian government submitted the initiative to parliament as part of the budget-forming package.
The increase in the minimum salary should contribute to raising the wages of approximately 4.6 million employees according to the explanatory note to the law.
