Russia, Kyrgyzstan exploring new settlement options in bilateral trade - Putin

BISHKEK. Nov 26 (Interfax) - Russia and Kyrgyzstan are exploring new settlement options in bilateral trade, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.

"We are working on new options for mutual settlements," Putin said.

Currently, about 97% of payments between Russia and Kyrgyzstan are made in national currencies, he said.

Russia is a leading trade and economic partner of Kyrgyzstan, Putin said, adding that bilateral trade grew 13.6% in 2024 to a record $4.1 billion and went up another 17% in January-September 2025.
