Naftogaz, Orlen finalize agreement to deliver 300 mcm of U.S. LNG in Q1 2026
MOSCOW. Nov 24 (Interfax) - Naftogaz Group and the Polish Orlen energy company have finalized an agreement to deliver 300 million cubic meters (mcm) of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Ukraine in the first quarter of 2026, while overall imports of U.S. LNG are due to reach 1 billion cubic meters (bcm) next year, Ukrainian media said, citing a statement on the Naftogaz website.
"This year, 600 mcm of U.S. LNG will be supplied to Ukraine under our agreement with Orlen. In total, we are expecting 1 bcm of U.S. LNG to be imported in 2026," the statement quoted Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Sergei Koretsky as saying.
The company keeps diversifying gas supply sources and routes to bolster Ukraine's energy stability, he said.
The sides signed a preliminary declaration of intent at the P-TEC energy conference in Greece on November 7, 2025, the statement said.
LNG will undergo regasification at the Swinoujscie terminal (Poland) and will be delivered to Ukraine via the Polish-Ukrainian border, it said.
As reported, Naftogaz, Orlen and U.S. partners agreed on additional supply of U.S. LNG to Ukraine on the sidelines of the P-TEC conference to ensure smooth operation in the heating season. The delivery of at least 300 mcm of gas was discussed.
Naftogaz has imported over 400 mcm of U.S. LNG since the beginning of 2025 in a partnership with Orlen.
Naftogaz and Orlen signed a long-term LNG cooperation memorandum in March 2025.
