X5 opens first distribution center in Far East, Khabarovsk

VLADIVOSTOK. Nov 20 (Interfax) - X5 Group (X5) (MOEX: X5) has opened a Class A distribution center in Khabarovsk that is designed to supply more than 650 Pyaterochka grocery shops in the Far Eastern Federal District, according to the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEACDC).

The 50,000-square-meter distribution center is the chain's first multi-temperature logistics center in the Far East. It houses fruit carbonation and partial recycling facilities, as well as a 5Post logistics service platform.

The complex has a monthly capacity to process 75,000 tonnes of produce.

X5 in 2022 signed a cooperation agreement with the Far Eastern Federal District that should begin operations in the Far Eastern Federal District, with over 500 Pyaterochka grocery shops opening to date in the Primorsk, Transbaikal, and Khabarovsk territories, respectively; as well as in the Amur Region, the Jewish Autonomous Region, Buryatia, and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

X5 is Russia's largest retailer in terms of revenue. The group operated 29,010 grocery shops as on September 30, 2025.
