Russian online marketplaces considering entering Ethiopian market - Reshetnikov
MOSCOW. Nov 12 (Interfax) - Russian marketplaces are looking into the possibility of entering the Ethiopian market, Russian Economy Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov told journalists following a Russian-Ethiopian intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technological and trade collaboration in Moscow.
"We are, of course, promoting our marketplaces there [in Ethiopia], and promoting them from two points of view, of course - as an export opportunity and as an opportunity to import from Ethiopia and neighboring countries. And as an entry onto the market, the technology that we as a country can supply and export to foreign markets, which will allow the Ethiopian economy to develop," the minister said.
A RVB (Wildberries & Russ) representative who took part in the meeting of the intergovernmental commission told journalists that the company considered the Ethiopian market to be promising and was currently looking into opportunities for entering it.
"We consider the Ethiopian market to be nothing but promising. We are currently conducting analysis, participating in intergovernmental commissions and holding talks [on opportunities for entering the Ethiopian market]," he said.
