Russia, China working on lunar station - Roscosmos

HANGZHOU. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Russia and China are working on the construction of a lunar station, Roscosmos head Dmitry Bakanov said.

"A respective agreement was signed in May on the sidelines of a visit of [Chinese President] Xi Jinping to Moscow. We are advancing consistent with these agreements. [Russia and China] are implementing joint power plant projects," Bakanov told the press in response to a related question.

Roscosmos and the China National Space Administration signed a memorandum in May to build a power plant for an international research station on the Moon. Roscosmos said that the station would be conducting fundamental space research and test technologies for long unmanned operation with the prospect of human presence on the Moon.
