Mishustin to visit China on Nov 3-4, to meet with Xi Jinping - Russian govt press service

MOSCOW. Oct 31 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin will visit China on November 3-4, 2025, to meet with the Chinese leadership, the Russian government press service said.

"The 30th regular meeting of the Russian and Chinese heads of government, involving Mikhail Mishustin and State Council Premier Li Qiang, is scheduled to take place in Hangzhou. Mikhail Mishustin will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping," the press service said.

It also said that the Russian and Chinese heads of government would meet on November 3, and Mishustin and Xi will meet on November 4.

"The upcoming contacts will address current aspects of strengthening the Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and strategic interaction. Emphasis will be put on deepening trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and continuation of joint projects in energy, industry, agriculture, education and other areas," the press service said.

A joint communique and a number of Russian-Chinese documents are due to be signed at the end of the meeting.

The previous, 29th regular meeting of the heads of government took place in Moscow on August 21, 2024.

"Despite the unfavorable external situation, trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China are actively developing, and China is a leading trade partner of Russia," the press service said.

"Bilateral investments are growing. An updated plan of investment cooperation was adopted last year, and a new Russian-Chinese agreement on the encouragement and protection of investments was endorsed this year. A key mechanism supporting investment cooperation between Russian and Chinese companies at the interstate level is the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission for Investment Cooperation, which is part of the mechanism of regular meetings of the heads of government," it said.

"The strategic energy partnership is deepening, and Russia ranks first by oil shipments to the Chinese market. This year, it has become the leading supplier of natural gas, as the Power of Siberia gas pipeline reached the rated capacity. Agreements have been reached to build the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline, which will become the largest gas project in history," it said.

Joint projects are being implemented in peaceful uses of atomic energy, including construction of Russia-designed reactor units at the Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant and Xudapu Nuclear Power Plant.
