Seven children rapidly reunite with families in Ukraine owing to interaction based Melania Trump's appeal to Putin - Russian ambassador

MOSCOW. Oct 30 (Interfax) - Seven children have returned to Ukraine and a girl to Russia owing to interaction based on U.S. First Lady Melania Trump's appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Ambassador to the United States Alexander Darchiyev said.

"Please note that U.S. First Lady Melania Trump, who asked the Russian president to pay full attention to the fate of minors in the conflict zone, expressed her appreciation of the Russian side's readiness to provide objective and detailed information. Such interaction allowed seven children to rapidly reunite with their families in Ukraine and one girl to return to Russia," Darchiyev said in response to a question from the media, as quoted by the Telegram channel of the Russian embassy to the United States.

"Please note that the facts of children's reunification with their near and dear are verified by employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross, who accompany children until they are transferred to parties and relatives," he said.

"Qatar and the Vatican provide mediation services," Darchiyev said.
