Russian GDP grows 0.9% in Sept, 1.0% in 9M- Econ Ministry
MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax) - Russian GDP grew an estimated 0.9% year-on-year in September, the Economic Development Ministry said in a report on the current economic situation.
GDP rose 0.4% in both August and July. It rose 1.0% in June, 0.7% in May and 1.5% in April. GDP grew 1.1% in March, 0.5% in February and 2.7% in January.
Year-on-year GDP growth slowed to 0.6% in Q3 from 1.1% in Q2 and 1.4% in Q1 2025.
The economy grew an estimated 1.0% in January-September.
"The Russian Economic Development Ministry estimates GDP grew 0.9% YoY in September 2025, following growth of 0.4% YoY in August. GDP grew 0.6% YoY in the third quarter of 2025. For the nine months of 2025, the Economic Development Ministry estimates that GDP growth was 1.0% YoY," the ministry said.
The ministry in September lowered its GDP growth forecast for the year to 1.0% from the 2.5% it was predicting in April, and its 2026 growth forecast to 1.3% from 2.4%.
The Central Bank in October lowered its 2025 growth forecast to 0.5%-1.0% from its July outlook of 1.0-2.0%, but kept its 2026 growth forecast at 0.5-1.5%.
Analysts surveyed by Interfax said at the start of October that they were expecting 1.0% GDP growth in 2025 and 1.4% in 2026.
