Budapest sees potential for alliance with Czechia, Slovakia to elaborate alternative approach to Ukraine

BERLIN. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Hungary is set to establish a "Ukraine-skeptic alliance" with Czechia and Slovakia within the European Union, Politico said on Tuesday, citing the Hungarian prime minister's advisor Balazs Orban.

"I think it will come and be more and more visible," Orban said in response to a question whether there is a potential for forging the alliance.

"It worked very well during the migration crisis. That's how we could resist," he said, referring to the Visegrad Group (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and Czechia).

Politico said that the alliance might have three members rather than four, as incumbent center-right Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk would be unlikely to join it.
