Turkmenistan suspends gas exports to Turkey - Turkmengaz CEO
ASHGABAT. Oct 24 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan is not currently exporting gas to Turkey, Turkmen government minister and CEO of Turkmenistan's state-owned Turkmengaz Maksat Babayev said at the Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2025 international exhibition.
"We have a short-term contract. If we don't reach an agreement on volumes or price, we have other buyers. That's the market," Babayev said.
He said that the contract stipulated an annual supply of 2 billion cubic meters (bcm).
Turkmenistan began conducting swap gas shipments to Turkey via Iran in March, with a monthly volume of around 120 million cubic meters (mcm). It supplies gas at spot prices. Today, the price is at $380 per 1,000 cubic meters.
