EU adopts 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions - Kallas

BRUSSELS. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The European Union has approved the 19th package of sanctions against Russia, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said.

"We just adopted our 19th sanctions package," Kallas wrote on X.

"It targets Russian banks, crypto exchanges, entities in India and China, among others," she said.

The European Union is also limiting Russian diplomats' travel within the EU.

The Bloomberg news agency said earlier that the 19th package of sanctions approved on Thursday includes a ban on imports of Russian liquefied natural gas to the EU from 2027.

The new measures also target 117 vessels which the EU believes are linked to Russia, as well as two major Russian oil companies. The Bloomberg report did not identify these companies.

On Thursday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced additional sanctions against Russia targeting the Rosneft and Lukoil oil companies.

The sanctions also apply to six subsidiaries of Lukoil, including Lukoil West Siberia and Lukoil Kaliningradmorneft, and around 30 Rosneft subsidiaries, including Sifneftegaz, Rospan International, and RN Purneftegaz.
