No precise date of Russian-U.S. summit - Kremlin
MOSCOW. Oct 21 (Interfax) - There is no precise date of the Russian-U.S. summit, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"There is an understanding of the presidents, but what has not been planned cannot be postponed. Neither President Trump nor President Putin have named any precise dates. Preparations, serious preparations need to be done. You have heard the statements made by both the U.S. and our side, which said that would take time. Therefore, no precise dates were announced from the beginning," Peskov told the press on Tuesday.
He thus commented on Western media reports saying that the Russian-U.S. summit might be postponed. Reporters also asked Peskov whether the summit was still planned and when it might be held.
He was asked how Moscow feels after the phone call of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio about how soon the Russian-U.S. summit could be organized.
"We are in the working mood. Difficult job is ahead," Peskov said, adding, "We did not name any dates."
There is no understanding for now as to when such a summit might take place, he said.
