Lenta co-founds DomLenta, head of OBI becomes general director

MOSCOW. Oct 17 (Interfax) - Lenta LLC, part of ICPJSC Lenta, has become one of the founders of DomLenta LLC, according to data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.

Lenta owns 90% of the legal entity. Another 10% is owned by Tsentr-Holding LLC (owned by Albert Kanokov, the son of the owner of the Sindika holding company Arsen Kanokov).

Svetlana Mozhayeva, who heads the main Russian legal entities of the OBI network (Obi FC LLC, Do It Yourself LLC and Do It Yourself North-West LLC), has become the general director of DomLenta.

Previously, media reports citing sources said that the OBI network could be bought out by structures of Alexei Mordashov's Severgroup. The company did not officially comment on the deal. In July 2025, Hermes LLC became the main owner of the OBI network's legal entities, receiving 90% of the companies, with another 10% held by structures of JSC Allonzh, which the media associates with structures of Sindika.

Hermes is not directly linked to Severgroup structures; the sole owner and manager is entrepreneur Vladimir Zakhvatoshin.

In September 2025, the newspaper Kommersant reported that OBI FC LLC had registered the domains Dom-Lenta.RF and Domlenta.RF. Sources of the newspaper claim this is related to the change of owner and the future rebranding of OBI to Dom Lenta (OBI will be developed as a sub-brand of Lenta).

The German company OBI GmbH operated in Russia from 2003, specializing in the sale of DIY goods. In March 2022, the German company closed its Russian stores and suspended operations in Russia. It later exited the Russian business. Since that time, the main Russian legal entities of OBI have changed owners several times.

The OBI network remains one of the largest DIY retailers on the Russian market, managing 26 stores. According to Infoline estimates, the company ranks eighth among specialized networks. In 2024, the company's revenue amounted to 24.6 billion rubles, up 4.2%.
