Russian military bases in Syria were on agenda of Putin's talks with al-Sharaa - Peskov
MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Russia's military bases in Syria were on the agenda of Russian President Vladimir Putin's talks with Syrian leader Ahmed al-Sharaa, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"As regards the bases, this issue was present on the agenda," Peskov said when asked by journalists on Thursday whether an agreement on the future of the Russian military bases in Syria had been reached during the talks on Wednesday.
When asked whether al-Sharaa demanded former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's extradition and what position Putin has on this issue, Peskov said, "As for al-Assad, we have nothing to report in this context."
