Central Bank of Russia includes Ozon's fintech division in investment advisors register

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia on October 13 decided to include Ozon Capital LLC, which consolidates most of the Ozon marketplace's financial services, in the unified register of investment advisors, the regulator said in a statement.

An investment advisor is defined as a professional securities market participant that provides services to develop investment strategies and recommendations for investors.

Ozon told Interfax that inclusion in the register was needed to develop the fintech arm of the investment business.

Ozon said earlier that the investment business might launch in 2026.

Ozon Capital on July 30, 2025, registered Ozon Asset Management. The company is in the process of obtaining a license to manage investment funds, mutual funds and non-state pension funds.

In addition, the fintech business expects to receive brokerage and depositary licenses in 2026.

Ozon Capital LLC unites the Ozon Bank, Ozon Credit MCC, Ozon Leasing, Ozon Invest and Ozon Financial Solutions, and Ozon Financial Technologies fintech assets.

Ozon Capital boosted net profit 2.9-fold to 16.2 billion rubles in 2024. The number of active clients increased 1.6-fold to 30.3 million. The amount of client funds in current accounts, deposits, and savings accounts totaled 193.5 billion rubles.
