Russia and Chile to hold talks on fish supplies
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the relevant Chilean agency will hold talks on fish supplies at the end of October.
"Konstantin Savenkov [deputy head of the service] will lead our talks on Chile at the international fish forum in St. Petersburg [at the end of October]. The head of the Chilean service will be attending," Sergei Dankvert, head of Rosselkhoznadzor, told reporters on the sidelines of the Golden Autumn 2025 agricultural exhibition in Moscow on Friday.
"You know our position. We are slowly but persistently asking them to comply with our requirements," Dankvert said.
As reported, Rosselkhoznadzor had filed complaints regarding fish supplies from Chile, specifically related to discrepancies in the accompanying documentation for the products, namely that the information on the labels and veterinary certificates differed. Rosselkhoznadzor specialists have conducted video visits to several Chilean fish processing plants.
