Russian-Arab summit possible in Nov - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - The first Russian-Arab summit, postponed on Thursday, may take place in November, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.

"We are preliminarily considering November," Ushakov said in an interview with Life journalist Alexander Yunashev, who published an interview abstract on Telegram.

"That depends on how the situation unfolds in the context of implementation of the Trump plan and so on, and how our Arab friends would suggest, after all, this is a Russia-Arab World summit and we will take all opinions into account," Ushakov said.

He added that the forum planned for October 16 as part of the Russian Energy Week would be held.

"The Russia-Arab World summit was initially scheduled for October 15. Yet it was decided after a phone call of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, who currently presides in the League of Arab States, on Thursday to postpone the summit due to the start of the active stage of implementation of the U.S. president's plan aimed to normalize the situation in the Gaza Strip.
