Russian deputy FM: Impetus given by Anchorage meeting largely exhausted
MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax) - The powerful impetus given by the Russian and U.S. leaders at their meeting in Anchorage has been largely exhausted, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
"Sadly, I have to say that the powerful impetus of the Anchorage meeting in favor of agreements has turned out to be exhausted to a considerable extent by adversaries' efforts and by the efforts of those, primarily among the Europeans, who support the war to the last Ukrainian," Ryabkov told journalists in Moscow on Wednesday.
"This is the result of the destructive actions, above all, by the Europeans," he said.
The venue of Russian-U.S. consultations on the elimination of mutual irritants has yet to be chosen, Ryabkov said.
"There is no agreement to this end yet. I presume we will start with agreeing on a specific date before talking about the venue. That is still to be done. We stay in regular and frequent, if not daily, contact with the colleagues on this matter as well," Ryabkov told the press.
