Azerbaijan's investment in economies of OTS countries exceeds $20 bln - Aliyev
BAKU. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan is actively implementing investment projects with the countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), and total Azerbaijani investment in these countries' economies exceeds $20 billion, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
"Azerbaijan has implemented many important investment projects with the OTS member states. To date, over 20 billion U.S. dollars have been invested in the economies of the fraternal countries," Aliyev said at the summit of the OTS Council of Heads of State on Tuesday in Gabala.
The main part of this investment falls on the economy of Turkey, he said.
"Along with this, Azerbaijan has created joint investment funds with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, through which many projects will be implemented," he said.
Azerbaijan is also attracting significant investment in renewable energy sources, he said. "By 2030, about 40% of the energy we produce will be provided by renewable sources. Currently, we are working on creating a Central Asia - Azerbaijan - Turkey - Europe green energy corridor," Aliyev said.
