Pashinyan, Aliyev confirm readiness for further work on strengthening Armenian-Azerbaijani peace
YEREVAN/BAKU. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev confirmed the importance of earlier agreements and agreed to stay in contact at a meeting in Copenhagen on Thursday.
"The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 2, 2025, on the margins of 7th summit of the European political community. Both sides highlighted the significance of agreements reached during Washington Peace Summit initiated by the U.S. President Donald Trump. They reaffirmed readiness to work for further strengthening of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan," the Armenian government's press service said.
Pashinyan and Aliyev affirmed the advantages of transport connectivity in the region and discussed the development of infrastructure in Azerbaijan and the implementation of the TRIPP in Armenia. They also exchanged views on the fulfillment of the Washington Declaration.
""In this regard, the sides welcomed the decision adopted unanimously on the closure of the OSCE Minsk process and its related structures. Both sides highlighted the importance of further implementing confidence-building measures and agreed to continue their contacts," the press service said.
