Durov announces launch of new AI service in Kazakhstan for 1 bln users
ASTANA. Oct 2 (Interfax) - The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence service in Kazakhstan for 1 billion users.
"The first project will be a collaboration project between Telegram and Kazakhstan's supercomputer cluster. This project will be launched here by the Artificial Intelligence Ministry," Durov said during the international technology forum Digital Bridge - 2025 in Astana on Thursday.
For the last few months, Telegram has been working on a new technology at the intersection of blockchain and AI, he said. This technology will allow more than 1 billion people to use AI functions. They will become the first users of the new product through Telegram.
"The Kazakh supercomputer cluster will become the primary source of power supply. Together, we will be able to allow a billion people to use AI transparently, efficiently and privately," Durov said.
Telegram previously enhanced its infrastructure in Kazakhstan, which helped increase speed and coverage for 12 million local users, he said.
