Russian draft budget provides for agricultural insurance subsidies totaling 16.5 bln rubles for 3 years - Agriculture Ministry

MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - Russia's draft federal budget for the next three years provides for agricultural insurance subsidies in the amount of 16.509 billion rubles for the period 2026-2028, the Agriculture Ministry's press service told Interfax.

It is planned that equal amounts of annual federal subsidies will be provided for compensating part of the insurance premiums for crop production enterprises, industrial livestock farming and aquaculture producers for each of the three years, as part of the law on agricultural insurance with state support.

The annual subsidies during this period will amount to 5.503 billion rubles.

The amount of annual subsidies therefore remains at the achieved level, and no reduction is planned, the president of the National Association of Agriculture Insurers (NAAI) Kornei Bizhdov told Interfax regarding the budget plans for agricultural insurance support. "These data do not take into account the amounts of subsidies from the regions for the same purposes, which in recent years have amounted to approximately 1 billion rubles," Bizhdov said.
