Central Bank to conduct study on cryptocurrency investments, lending to crypto companies in early 2026
MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia plans to conduct research into investments in cryptocurrencies and lending to cryptocurrency companies in January-February 2026, the bank said in a publication.
"The goal of this research is to assess investments by regulated companies into cryptocurrencies, for risk management purposes and otherwise, as well as to measure lending to crypocurrency companies as of January 1, 2026," the CBR said.
The data must be provided by February 1, 2026 at the latest.
The CBR said that it would clarify the list of participants when it sends the survey materials.
In November-December 2025, the bank will also conduct a study on investments by private individuals into financial assets whose yield is pegged to the value of cryptocurrency. The data are to be provided on a monthly basis, no later than the 10th working day after the end of the month of study.
