Measures against Russian LNG to be included in 19th package of EU sanctions - von der Leyen

BRUSSELS. Sept 30 (Interfax) - The European Union will increase pressure on Russia, including by the upcoming 19th package of sanctions, which, in particular, targets Russian LNG, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

"We have proposed a new sanctions package with robust measures on energy, financial service and trade," von der Leyen told the press on Tuesday before European commissioners discussed security with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

"Most important one key element is the prohibition of LNG imports from Russia to the European Union," she said.
