Inflation in Tajikistan continues to slow, falls to 3.1% in Aug - EDB

DUSHANBE. Sept 29 (Interfax) - Annual inflation in Tajikistan slowed to 3.1% in August 2025 from 3.5% in July and 3.6% in June, according to the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB)'s weekly review.

Price growth remained within the target range of the country's National Bank - 5% plus-minus 2 percentage points, with stable prices for imported goods, primarily energy carriers, as well as the stability of the national currency exchange rate continuing to restrain inflation, the bank's analysts said.

The EDB maintained its inflation forecast for Tajikistan for the current year at 3.3%.

Consumer prices in the country increased 3.6% in 2024, compared to 3.8% a year earlier.
