Bulgaria planning to stop using, transiting gas from Russia in 2026 - PM
SOFIA. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Bulgaria will terminate the agreement on transit of Russian gas next year, Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said.
"We, as a part of the European Union, will join the Union's decision on the termination of contracts to use or transit Russian natural gas in the short term, in 2026," Bulgarian National Radio quoted Zhelyazkov as saying on Wednesday.
Bulgaria is self-sufficient, both its industry and population, through importing liquefied gas, he said.
