ST. PETERSBURG. Sept 22 (Interfax) - The united company Wildberries&Russ or RVB LLC is planning to build a logistics center in the Arkhangelsk region with an area of 50,000 square meters, the company's press service reported.
This is the result of an agreement signed by Arkhangelsk region governor Alexander Tsybulsky and Wildberries founder Tatiana Kim.
The company is currently looking for a suitable plot of land to build the center, the press service reported.
The total investment in the project was not disclosed in the statement.
"The Arkhangelsk region, located in the Arctic Zone, is one of the largest regions in terms of area in the north of the European part of Russia. For this exact reason, we chose this region in which to build the modern logistics center. The project will make it possible to significantly optimize logistics and speed up delivery of goods, which is especially relevant for territories in the North," Kim is quoted as saying in the statement.
Wildberries & Russ was formed as a result of the merger of the online retailer Wildberries and the outdoor advertising operator Russ with the aim of creating a digital trading platform. To date, the united company operates in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as in China and the UAE, from which it imports goods.
The united company Wildberries & Russ manages more than 135 logistics facilities with a total area of over 4 million square meters.
