Russia maintains leadership in sunflower oil exports to India in 2025
MOSCOW. Sept 18 (Interfax) - India purchased 685,000 tonnes of sunflower oil from Russia for $815 million in H1 2025, the Agroexport federal center said, citing data from the Indian Commerce and Industry Ministry.
Russia thus remains in first place in the list of exporting countries of this type of fat and oil product on the Indian market, the center said.
The top three suppliers of sunflower oil to India at the end of H1 also included Ukraine ($374 million) and Argentina ($196 million).
In total, India imported 1.3 million tonnes of sunflower oil for $1.6 billion in H1.
"Russian exporters are increasingly entering the Indian market, offering a wide range of products - from pulses and fat and oil products to confectionery and beverages. Next week, from September 25 to 28, Agroexport together with the Russian Agriculture Ministry will conduct a business mission of Russian exporting companies to India," the center said.
