VTB still planning to register additional share issue by the end of Sept, raise 80 bln-90 bln rubles

MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - VTB still plans to register an additional issue by the end of September and to raise about 80 billion-90 billion rubles for its capital, VTB First Deputy CEO Dmitry Pyanov said.

"All our previous statements, all our previous promises, communications, remain absolutely valid. We want to complete the additional issue by September 30," he said on RBK radio.

All that remains is to set the price, he said.

The ideal size would be 80 billion-90 billion rubles, since this is the closest to the market price at the time of the SPO.

"I am often asked if I have to choose between volume and discount size or price, then what will be the choice? My answer is that we try to organize the process in such a way that there is no need to choose. And how can this be done? It is only by ensuring strong market demand in which both the volume and the price will be within our expectations," he said.

VTB raised 94 billion rubles for capital with a share issue in 2023. Then, in exercise of preemptive right, shareholders purchased securities for 1 billion rubles. Now there are 6.5 times more bids to buy shares from current shareholders than in 2023, Pyanov said.

"We are identifying a lot of demand in terms of book building from institutional investors, from private individuals. And this additional issue will have marketing events. They will begin next week, for example, VTB Capital Markets Day for potential corporate investors begins on Tuesday," Pyanov said.
