EU extends individual anti-Russian sanctions
BRUSSELS. Sept 12 (Interfax) - European Union member states have agreed to extend the individual anti-Russian sanctions for six months, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said on Friday.
"We just extended our sanctions on Russia," Kallas said on X.
Sanctions related to the Ukraine situation were on the agenda of the Committee of Permanent Representatives' meeting on September 12.
These are preparations for a respective resolution of the Council of the European Union to be adopted by the written procedure.
The individual sanctions envisage immobilization of assets and restrictions on entering the EU territory for persons and legal entities, whose activity, in the opinion of the EU, is "undermining the country's [Ukraine's] sovereignty and territorial integrity." The sanctions were imposed in March 2014. They are extended every six months.
