Russian electoral system ready for elections - CEC head
MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - The Russian electoral system is ready for the elections due on September 12-14, Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) Chair Ella Pamfilova said.
"Rest assured that everything we have done, the entire preparatory work allows me to say that the electoral system of Russia, all constituent territories where the elections will be held is fully prepared for holding the election campaign at the high, due level," Pamfilova said at the CEC information center on Thursday.
More than 5,000 election campaigns will be held in 81 regions of Russia on September 12-14. About 55 million voters can cast their ballots. There will be election campaigns of various levels, including direct gubernatorial elections in 20 regions.
