Forex revenue not yet received by Belarus grows 33.3% to $0.5 bln in H1 - Lukashenko
MINSK. Sept 9 (Interfax) - Foreign accounts receivable by Belarus grew by a third to $500 million due to problems with international payments in the first half of 2025, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a banking sector meeting on Tuesday.
"The number of foreign trade settlements for goods and services needs to be increased. The mechanism currently in use is not fully effective in ensuring international payments are conducted promptly and foreign currency revenue is repatriated," Lukashenko is quoted as saying by state news agency BelTA.
Lukashenko said to the management of the National Bank that "the general prosecutor is responsible for overseeing the repatriation of export revenue, as well as the State Monitoring Committee; I am awaiting their general assessments".
