Kazakhstan committed to agreements within OPEC+, intends to compensate for oil overproduction - energy minister
ASTANA. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan has exceeded the OPEC+ oil production quota and intends to compensate for this, Kazakh Energy Minister Erlan Akkenzhenov told Interfax.
"We have gone slightly over, and we will [compensate]; we are committed to OPEC+ agreements. It [the compensation plan] is available to read in full on the OPEC website," Akkenzhenov told Interfax on the sidelines of a joint parliament meeting.
He said a decision was made last week for participants in the deal to raise oil output by 137,000 barrels per day in October.
"This decision was taken because the global economic situation allows for higher production. Based on stable economic indicators, the OPEC+ group of eight countries made this decision," he said.
