Rosatom might build 400 MW wind farm in Amur Region

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Rosatom Renewable Energy, a division of Russia's Rosatom Group, might build a wind farm in Amur Region with capacity of up to 400 MW under an agreement with the region's government and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) that was signed at the Eastern Economic Forum.

The agreement calls for cooperation on the implementation of the project to build the Uspenovskaya wind farm, as well as support for the investor from Amur Region and the FEDC to ensure it secures the status of a resident of the Amurskaya priority development area, Rosatom said in a press release.

Rosatom Renewable Energy, formerly known as Novawind, was established in 2017 to consolidate Rosatom's wind energy assets. The company's portfolio of projects in Russia totals about 1.7 GW, including 1 GW of wind farm capacity already in operation.

Two projects of Rosatom's JSC VetroSPK in Amur Region with capacity of 89.84 MW and 140 MW scheduled to go into operation in 2027 and 2028, respectively, as well as one project in Khabarovsk Territory with capacity of 139.86 MW to go into operation in 2028 were selected in a tender held in August for construction of renewable generating facilities in the Far East.
