Russian oil companies receive 80.4 bln rubles under damper mechanism in Aug compared to 60 bln rubles in July
MOSCOW. Sept 3 (Interfax) - Payments from the Russian budget to oil companies under the fuel damper mechanism in August 2025 amounted to 80.4 billion rubles, according to materials on the formation and use of additional oil and gas revenues of the federal budget published on the Finance Ministry's website.
Similar payments amounted to 59.9 billion rubles in July. They were at the level of 34.5 billion rubles in June, 42.5 billion rubles in May, 62.7 billion rubles in April, 100.3 billion rubles in March, 148.3 billion rubles in February and 156.4 billion rubles in January.
Cumulatively, for the past eight months, damper payments to oil companies amounted to 685 billion rubles.
Finance Minister Anton Siluanov previously said that damper payments to oil companies are expected to be 1.4 trillion rubles below plan in 2025, at approximately 2.6 trillion rubles. "Prices fell, and accordingly, revenues have become somewhat lower, so we will return less to oil companies," he said.
In particular, compared to payments in August 2024 when oil companies received 163.3 billion rubles, damper compensation has decreased by slightly more than 50%.
