SOCAR, China's CNCEC agree on joint projects in Azerbaijan, abroad

BAKU. Sept 2 (Interfax) - The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) and China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven, LTD (CNCEC) have agreed to implement joint projects, the Azerbaijani president's press service said.

"On Tuesday, in the Chinese city of Tianjin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with the chairman of CNCEC, Mo Dingqi. The parties discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and the company in the petrochemical industry, oil refining and production of petrochemical products," the press service said.

Following the negotiations, SOCAR and CNCEC exchanged a previously signed framework agreement, which provides for the implementation of joint projects both in Azerbaijan and in third countries.

In Tianjin, Aliyev also held a meeting with the executive vice president of Powerchina Group, Xi Yinfen. The parties discussed cooperation in green energy, environmental protection, water resources management, wastewater treatment, electricity, equipment production and green hydrogen projects.

They also examined the prospects for implementing projects for constructing solar and wind power plants, the integration of smart energy systems, and training local specialists for these projects.
