Stefanishina replaces Markarova as Ukrainian ambassador to U.S
MOSCOW. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has relieved Oksana Markarova of duties as the ambassador in Washington and has appointed Olga Stefanishina as the new ambassador, Ukrainian media said, citing the executive orders published on the Zelensky website.
Stefanishina, a lawyer by education, served as a deputy prime minister, the minister of European and Euro-Atlantic integration (2020-2025) and the justice minister (2024-2025) in the government of Prime Minister Denis Shmygal.
Markarova was serving as the Ukrainian ambassador to the United States since February 2021.
